This Easter, Bethlehem Lutheran Church & School invites you and your family to experience the love and mercy of our amazing God as we celebrate the death and resurrection of our beautiful savior Jesus Christ.
Our theme this year is “empty”. We will be taking a look at what that word means on multiple levels as we explore life from two very different perspectives.
God has blessed us with many gifts. At Bethlehem Lutheran Church & School we can think of few gifts more precious to us than the very body and blood of Jesus. This Easter season, we invite you to join us as we celebrate the giving of the Lord’s Supper at Maundy Thursday worship services.
Let’s be honest, sometimes life feels empty. Whether it is tragedy, pain, suffering, or our own struggles with sin we all have some idea of what it means to be empty. Jesus also knows what it means to be empty. He knows what it means to suffer. He knows what it means to be forsaken. He knows what it means to give absolutely everything He has and is. This good Friday we take a hard look at how we are many times left feeling empty and how Jesus emptied Himself for us.
On Easter Sunday morning, join us as we celebrate that our feelings of emptiness and sorrow for sin have no power over us as we rejoice in the empty tomb! Jesus rose from the grave, proclaiming victory over sin and death and gives that precious gift to all of us! This Easter we focus on how Christ’s empty tomb leaves the accusations of Satan and the pain of death empty of ALL their power as we loudly and joyously proclaim, “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” (1 Cor. 15:55)
