Bethlehem Church Staff
Scott BubkeDirector Of Operations
I'm a CPA and a graduate of the University of Iowa. I feel honored to work for such an amazing church and school and have been at Bethlehem since 2002. I love the Colorado outdoors and enjoy skiing, mountain biking, hiking, camping and traveling.
Doug ButteIT Director
Hi! My name is Doug Butte. I joined the Bethlehem staff as the IT Director in the spring of 2015. I’ve been tinkering around with computers and networks since 2002. Prior to that, I served as a classroom teacher and a youth ministry director before making my shift into the IT field. I grew up in rural Nebraska, attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and then moved with my new bride in 1997 to St. Louis, Missouri, where I completed a seminary degree and where we began a family. We moved to the Denver area in 2012. Outside of doing IT tasks, I enjoy coaching high school track and field, spending time with my wife and three kids, and being active outdoors. Other than one year, all of my 14 years in technology have been in schools and churches - so I feel wonderfully at home here at Bethlehem.
Becky ChaplinDirector of Children's Ministry
My name is Becky Chaplin, and I'm the Director of Ministry to Children and their Families here at Bethlehem. Growing up I always knew I wanted to teach, but I wasn't sure how. But I knew I loved teaching Vacation Bible School, and from there I discovered how much I enjoy serving in kids' ministry. I grew up in Macomb, Michigan and then graduated from Concordia University Ann Arbor with a degree in Family Life Ministry and focus on Children’s Ministry. I love traveling and always dreamed of coming to Colorado, so living here is a dream come true! Some of my favorite things include Vacation Bible School (I have a collection of VBS themed buckets in my office, come check it out!), dancing, watching movies, and golden retrievers. My favorite golden retriever in the world is my dog, Charlie, who is back in Michigan with my parents and younger brother, Andrew. I love my family and I am excited to get to know yours too!
Sherry GlaubitzAccounting Assistant Billing & School Tuition
My name is Sherry Glaubitz and I work in the Finance Department. I have worked in church and school ministries for twelve years, and at Bethlehem since 2010. Prior to that, I worked in Corporate America and then took off about four years to stay home with my son until he started school. I love providing accounting support to our wonderful school families, congregation members and our awesome staff at Bethlehem! Parents call me the “money lady”. I am always happy to talk to families about financial options to help them with their school tuition. My son, Tyler, is a Bethlehem graduate and I can personally attest to the fabulous teachers and the outstanding academics at Bethlehem. I am married to my husband, Chris, who is a commercial HVAC project estimator. I enjoy traveling, decorating, going to my son’s football games and spending time with my family!
Sarah InfanteHuman Resources Coordinator
Hi! My name is Sarah Infante and I'm the Human Resources Coordinator at Bethlehem. I hold a Master's Degree in Labor and Industrial Relations and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology both from Michigan State University. Coming from the mid-west, I'm a HUGE Chicago Cubs fan and was absolutely thrilled when they won the World Series in 2016 after 108 years. My husband, children and I moved to Colorado, from Michigan a few years prior and we couldn't be happier. We have fallen in love with Colorado; both the landscape and the people. I joined the staff in the fall of 2017. What I love most about my job is helping our amazing employees become even more amazing and fully alive in Jesus, through their service to others.
Dave KingDirector of Worship Arts
Hi, I’m Dave (don’t call me David). My passion for music started here in Colorado—after years of learning piano as a kid, my local church encouraged me to play bass guitar. I’ve been serving God through my music ever since, sometimes by rocking out with the other instruments and sometimes by leading worship. Encouraging volunteers to pursue their own passion for music is my favorite thing about my job. I love bragging about our worship arts ministry team members; I am honored to share the platform with them and journey through life with them. I invest individually in every volunteer who demonstrates desire to serve. I love being at home with my wife, two daughters, dog, and cat.
David LangewischPastor/Student Ministry
My name is David. For a brief time in high school I was 'Dave', but that was a phase. First and foremost you need to know I am a sinner who has been cleansed by the blood of Jesus. I believe my life is fully in him. I feel good about my training to be a pastor. However, my heart's desire is to simply be a servant of Christ, used by him to help people experience fullness of life in him. Sometimes I think I’m smart. Sometimes I think I’m funny. But I count all of this as a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ and being found in him. My favorite book of the Bible is Romans, and if you have to pin me down, my favorite chapter is Romans 8. Personally, I think this matters more than knowing I’m from Minnesota, or that I was graduated from Lutheran schools starting with elementary school. Curiosity might lead you to ask about my wonderful wife, Lynn, and four children, but I would probably exaggerate about their greatness and how helpful would that be? If you really want to know other positions I’ve held, honors I’ve received, etc., you can ask and I will try to remember. But when you walk away from our conversation, this is what I want you to remember about me – I am a sinner who has been cleansed by the blood of Jesus and I believe my life is fully in him. And if, in my contact with you, some of this rubs off on you, and you share the same perspective with greater conviction, I will count it a blessing.
Peter LorenzenAssistant Director of Worship Arts
Hey. Hi there. It's me, Peter. I have been a member at Bethlehem my whole life, and played piano nearly as long. My absolute favorite things in my life are my wife and two daughters, followed closely by anything music related. It is a blessing to be able to serve the ministry at Bethlehem with music. I greatly enjoy working with all the delightful human beings on staff here at Bethlehem. Besides music, I spend my time with video games and catching snakes for my daughter. That is all. Peace and love.
Kim MusselmanChurch Office Manager
Hi! My name is Kim Musselman, and I have been the Church Office Manager at Bethlehem since 2006. I was baptized as an infant, confirmed and married at Bethlehem, so needless to say, Bethlehem is my home. Following 30 years in the legal and cable television industries, I decided to do what I love most -- Kingdom work! I am a huge Broncos and Rockies fan, and also enjoy a sandy beach and golf (preferably not at the same time!). Bethlehem is my family and I hope you will make it yours!
Drew is a husband, father, and pastor, who is married to the love of his life, Sarah, and a dad to 3 pretty awesome kids (Espen, Isly, & Esti). He is also committed to connecting the local church into community partnerships, and as many people as possible into a life of becoming fully alive in Jesus. Previously, Drew has served churches in St. Pete / Clearwater, Florida, and St. Louis, MO; even starting new church campuses in Florida and metro St. Louis. Drew and his family like to spend as much time as possible outside exploring, whether on a paddleboard, a long board, snowboard, or ski’s – they all get the job done. Drew is also actively becoming a Bronco’s fan, after suffering through way too many years of Buccaneers misery.
Dean Von HoldtProperty Manager
I’m Dean von Holdt. My family has been members here since around 1996. My wife, Laurie, grew up at Bethlehem and went to school here. Laurie and I were married here in 1980, and we have three kids- Kyle, Keri and Kody, all who went through Bethlehem School. We have five grandchildren, two of whom live in Colorado and attend Bethlehem School. I’m a fourth generation Coloradoan (my grandmother was born on the corner of 38th and Wadsworth in 1899) and I have lived in only two houses my entire life, one in Lakewood and now in Wheat Ridge. I enjoy all outdoor activities including skiing (I learned to ski at Berthoud Pass ski area for those that remember it), hiking, camping, and especially riding my bicycle all over the state. After getting my degree in construction management from CSU, I spent my career owning and running a large commercial painting company in Denver. I sold the company in 2006 and started my second career here at Bethlehem in 2008. I enjoy the challenges of helping keep this place operational and providing support to the rest of our incredible staff and congregation
Tim WendelinPastor Of Care
Hi, I’m Pastor Tim. I’ve been a part of the Bethlehem family my entire life, 58 years and counting! Born, raised, and educated at Bethlehem’s day school, I went on to high school and then to college in the Denver area. I graduated from the Colorado School of Mines with a Master’s degree in Physics and have worked for the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) for 36 years. Yes, that’s a long time, but I have enjoyed every minute of it. Several years ago, I felt a pull to the ministry and so went back to school as a student at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. In early 2016, I was ordained and called as a pastor here at Bethlehem my home church. My wonderful wife Sandy, whom I met here at Bethlehem 28 years ago also serves here at Bethlehem as our Director of Discipleship. My main ministry focus is pastoral care and visitation. For now, I work full time as a research engineer at NREL and part time at Bethlehem providing visitation and pastoral care to those in care centers, rehabilitation facilities, hospitals and homes. I also assist with worship on Sunday mornings, teach Bible study and sing with our contemporary worship teams. In my spare time I spend time with my wife and golf. There is a reason I have been at Bethlehem my entire life. This wonderful faith community is my extended family and I pray it can be yours too. May you find the love and gifts of Christ here at Bethlehem!
Sandy WendelinDirector of Discipleship
Hi, I’m Sandy and I’ve been around Bethlehem awhile. Some might consider it a long time, but I consider it a joy! I’ve had the opportunity to start my ministry here in Children’s Ministry in the early 80s, work in Assimilation, Small Groups, and our Early Learning Center to name a few areas! I love to create the vision for a ministry, get it going, and when it is chugging along, well… I like to move on to the next thing! I’m so grateful that there have always been ministries at Bethlehem that I get to move on to. Currently, I do all things Discipleship. We are creating a Discipleship Pathway that causes people to embark on the journey of sharing life with others and growing closer to Jesus Christ. It’s fun, it’s big and I hope you will join us on the pathway!

My first call saw me serving at Grace Chapel in the St. Louis, Missouri area, as the fifth grade homeroom teacher and math teacher for seventh grade and the eighth grade Algebra teacher. When you have three boys, there is not a lot of free time so it is a wonderful thing to say that my favorite thing to do is to spend time with my wife and my boys. When I do venture out I enjoy getting in a round of golf or spending time with the friends we have made while in Colorado.

One of my granddaughters is a student at Bethlehem Lutheran School and we meet in the hallways on occasion! After receiving my BA, I taught art in a Home School Co-Op for 2 years, for children 5 years through 17 years old. 2 years ago I began working in ELC aftercare and joined the new 2 year old class (Jungle Room) when it opened in March of 2015. Teaching 2 year olds is a blessing and I have learned so much from the other ELC teachers, who are supportive and loving to students, staff, parents and are a true family of believers. When school began this fall, I began teaching Art to grades 6th-8th, one hour a day and cannot express how thrilled I am to share with my new students the passion I have for the creative process.

Lauribeth RoemerELC Director
My love for the Lord and His little ones has brought me to this place and time with you. I am grateful for my rich Lutheran heritage. There is a town and church in Norway inscribed with my family name, dated 1200 AD. My great-great aunt was a Deaconess and missionary from Norway to the United States, then on to China. I was baptized and confirmed in our Lutheran church in a tiny town of 300 people in the Red River Valley of the North. I was so in love with the Lord in high school that I started a youth group called ‘Jesus Rap’. This is a shocker- it was before anyone even used the word ‘rap’! My undergrad degrees are in Art/Art History from Concordia Lutheran College in Minnesota. My ECE education and director’s certificate was earned at ACC. I earned dual Masters’ degrees in Creative Writing and Conflict Management from Regis University. My career experiences include home-educating my children through their formative years, teaching preschool and pre-kindergarten, serving as Executive Director of a non-profit child care center, and directing a Lutheran preschool for 5 years in Golden. My passion is worship! Worship of our Lord- through His glorious creation, through ministry of music, through the eyes of His dear, little children, and through His powerful and life-changing Word.

Hi! My name is Eliza Martinez and I have been a Bethlehem member since 2000. I have taught PE and computers and was a substitute teacher the last two years. This year I am blessed to be teaching in the ELC in the Forest Room. In my free time I like to read, sew, hike and spend time with my family. My favorite Bible verse is Joshua 1:9 - "have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."
Kacee BurkeELC Teacher
Hi! My Name is Mrs. Kacee Burke! I am one of the teachers in the Forest Room for the 2018-2019 school year! This will be my 1st year teaching in the ELC and I am excited to make this the best year yet! I have my Bachelors Degree in History, with a minor in Social Worker, my Associates of Arts in Early Childhood Education, and this Spring I will be continuing my education and pursing my Elementary Education licensure from Metropolitan State University. However, this is not my first year in education, I previously worked for a neighboring district for 4 years, providing students K-12 with behavior interventions and support. Prior to my work with Intervention Services, I was a Social Caseworker for close to 10 years for one of the largest counties in Colorado. I have always worked with children in one aspect or another, but God called me to Bethlehem this past Spring. I have been married for almost 6 years to my husband Dan. We were blessed with our tiny miracle Jacob in 2014. The 3 of us love to watch Bronco games, play with our Jack Russell Terrier- Riley and spend time with our families.
Greetings! My husband, Rus, and I have three grown children and two grandchildren. Our family is blessed every day with the faith and goodness of Bethlehem. My undergraduate degree is from the University of Colorado-Boulder, and my Master’s in Library Science is from the University of Denver. I retired after 17 years as a youth librarian, offering storytimes and programming for young children that develop their early literacy skills. Teaching the children in our Early Learning Center is a joy because I can give these skills to your children each day that we are together. Early literacy skills are the the things that young children need to know before they are ready to learn how to read and write. These skills include knowledge of the ABCs, the ability to hear the sounds that make up words, enjoyment of books and how to use them, a large vocabulary, recognition of the print words in their environment, and how to tell a story that has a beginning, a middle, and an end. This sounds like a lot to accomplish with children in the few short years before first grade, but it happens naturally in your daily life with your child. How? When you talk, sing, read, write, and play with your child, you are developing their early literacy skills! I am so happy to be a part of Bethlehem Lutheran School and to share these activities with your children!
