Covid Corner
We’ve had a great start to the school year and are so thankful for the blessings of learning in-person. We are so grateful that everyone has stayed healthy and well so far. To keep students and staff that way going forward, Jefferson County Public Health (JCPH) has issued a public health order (PHO). It states that all persons age 3 and older must wear a mask at all times while indoors in licensed childcare and school settings, including those in Pre-K through 12th grade, regardless of vaccination status.
This is in response to high transmission rates and low vaccination rates - partly due to vaccines only being available for children ages 12 and older, and partly due to increased rates - especially of the Delta variant. Regardless, it’s concerning enough that JCPH feels it’s necessary to take action. Based on recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics, Colorado Children’s Hospital, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Jefferson County Public Health Department has issued a new Public Health Order that can be read in its entirety here: https://www.jeffco.us/4114/Local-Public-Health-Orders
It is our goal to keep our students in school this year, as we know the benefits of in-person learning. To do that, we must adhere to this public health order even though we were so enjoying seeing each other’s faces again. Thank you for working with us to assure that our ELC, Childwatch, and K-8 are allowed to remain open and our students get to remain in-person to learn and grow for the 2021-22 school year.
We trust in our God who is good and gracious. While He does not say that things will be easy, He assures us that He will sustain us and see us through because He is good...all the time!
