A Dark Place to Hide – Ephesians 5:1-14
All of us have dark place in our lives, in our thoughts, in our behaviors. All of us tend to hide these dark places. We also tend to try to hide ourselves in a dark place, where no one can see. In Ephesians Paul addresses our need to expose things done in the darkness and remove ourselves from the darkness as we exchange that darkness for light and walk as children of the light.
A natural reaction we have to our sin is to hide it, to deny it, and to avoid dealing with it. For this reason we keep our sins “behind closed doors” in silence, in darkness, separate from the healing God and our community of believers can bring us.
