ACADEMICS
Bethlehem Lutheran School and ELC are dedicated to the best in education at all academic levels. This means that we strive for excellence in testing, homework, discipline, and grading.
ACHIEVEMENT TESTING
Students in 1st - 8th grade at Bethlehem Lutheran School take the Iowa Assessment Test at the end of February each year to show us how our school does compared to national norms. Our students also take the STAR360 tests in reading and math three times a year: fall, winter, and spring, to measure the growth and progress of each individual student.
GRADE REPORTING/CONFERENCES
Official parent teacher conferences are held in October, at the end of the first quarter, to monitor behavior and academic progress for each student. At the end of the first semester, a second parent teacher conference will be held, if necessary or requested. Parents can also request a conference at any time to discuss student progress or behavior, and we encourage this collaboration and partnership between parents and teachers.
Grades are kept electronically through a program called Teacherease. Parents have access to each of their student's grades at all times. Official report cards are sent home at the end of each quarter.
