continuous enrollment FAQs

We value you as an important part of the Bethlehem community, and we value your TIME! To reduce the time our families have historically spent each year on re-enrollment (our data collection process that we use to make plans for the following year based on enrollment numbers), we are moving forward with the assumption that you would like to continue to partner with us in the Christian education of your child.

Continuous Enrollment offers our families a way to "set it and forget it,” and it allows our BLS team to move forward with these enrollment numbers to inform Spring decision on program offerings and hiring new staff.

|  FAQS

What is Continuous Enrollment (CE)?

An automatic enrollment process where students are automatically re-enrolled each year and parents/guardians are no longer required to complete annual re-enrollment forms. If you decide you do not want to return the next school year, simply complete the “opt out” form on Blackbaud before the deadline of January 15th.

Why Continuous Enrollment?

Since over 90% of our student body re-enrolls, we want to guarantee your child a spot at Bethlehem until 8th grade while making the re-enrollment process easier. Once you complete the Continuous Enrollment Agreement, you will not have to sign another enrollment contract during your child’s time at BLS.

When will this take place?

January 2026 marks the launch of this Continuous Enrollment process. In place of the old re-enrollment agreement, current families will sign the new Continuous Enrollment Agreement. All contracts will be due by January 30, 2026.

How will re-enrollment look different this year?

Instead of the normal Re-enrollment contract, we will offer a Continuous Enrollment contract in January. You will be issued a Continuous Enrollment contract and Agreement. Then, each year you will only be asked to update family information and to sign the upcoming year's permission forms and handbook.

What is an Annual Commitment Fee?

The Annual Commitment fee for Continuous Enrollment secures your student’s spot for the upcoming school year. This Annual Commitment Fee of $100 will replace the previous $250 re-enrollment fee. This fee goes towards administrative and assessment costs of enrollment. A curriculum fee will be collected along with tuition to cover costs of quality curriculum.

When will Future Tuition & Fee Schedules be Available?

Tuition & Fee Schedules will be emailed out in mid-December for the following school year.

What other fees can I expect?

Educational Fee (formerly Enrollment Fee): Covers curriculum materials like textbooks, workbooks, and classroom supplies. Now billed annually or monthly like tuition instead of at enrollment to reduce upfront costs.

Co-curricular Fees: Charged only if your child joins activities like sports, camps, or clubs.

What are Bethlehem’s current payment plan options?

• One Payment: Total due in one payment due by June 30th. This option applies to both ELC and K-8 and qualifies for a 2% discount.

• 10 month plan: Ten equal monthly payments from August 1st - May 1st. Applies to both ELC and K-8.

• 12 month plan: Twelve equal monthly payments from August 1st - July 1st. Applies to only ELC with a 12 month schedule plan.

How do we opt out if we are planning not to return?

To opt out of Continuous Enrollment for the following school year, you can simply fill out an “Opt Out” form in Blackbaud. The form is located under the Resources tab, then “Parent Resources” block.

When is the Opt-Out deadline?

The Opt-Out deadline is January 15th of every year. For example, for the 2027-2028 school year, the Opt-Out Deadline is January 15th, 2027. If you do not opt-out by January 15th, you will be charged the Annual Commitment Fee on February 15th, which is non-refundable.

This form will need to be completed through Blackbaud by the opt-out deadline of January 15th. You will receive a confirmation email stating that your form has been received.

What if I Opt-Out then Later Decide to Enroll?

BLS would love to continue to partner with your family in your child’s education. However, if you opt-out, your spot at BLS will no longer be secure and could be given to a new student. The Annual Commitment Fee after January 15 will be $250/student and the Continuous Enrollment packet will need to be filled out again.

What if I Do Not Opt-Out and Choose Not to Return?

Families who do not complete the Opt-Out Form by January 15th will have their Annual Commitment Fee of $100 debited on February 15th. Withdrawals that take place after the Opt-Out Deadline has passed will forfeit their Annual Commitment Fee, as it is non-refundable.

Does our family need to have a Blackbaud account?

Yes, all BLS families must have a Blackbaud account for tuition payments, the Annual Commitment Fee and incidentals (sports fees, etc.). Part of the Continuous Enrollment checklist (that you fill out one time) will be selecting a Tuition Payment Plan.

What is the process that parents can use to update family information in Blackbaud once they have signed continuous enrollment?

Parents may log into and update their information in the Blackbaud Portal at any time during the year, and may also contact the school office with any additional updates. Each Fall, we will ask parents to fill out Permissions and Information. Parents will receive an email in August with a link to these forms.
